The ASIST 12 workshop is for professionals and/or community members who want to feel more comfortable, confident and competent in helping to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. Participation in the full two days is required in order to receive certification. ASIST is designed to help participants recognize risk and learn how to intervene to keep a person at risk safe for now. Suicide can be prevented with the help of prepared professionals and/or community member. Enjoy small group discussions and skills practice that are based upon adult learning principles. Feel challenged and safe and learn suicide first aid. Trainings are open to all people, age 16+. Certification is valid for 3 years.
Fees
Registration requires a $50 -non refundable deposit to secure your spot, which will be deducted from total fees. Standard Fees: $280+HST per participant.
Reduced Fees: Limited spaces available to students and volunteers at $220+HST.
All Fees Include participant materials and Lunch for both training days.
For Agencies: Organizations and groups are welcomed to request for a private/closed workshop at any time, you don’t have to wait for a scheduled date. Please contact us directly at hello@lkpsychotherapy.ca for registration, get more information and/or to review options for your agency. Non-profits agencies may be eligible for a discounted rate.
For individuals: Please keep an eye out on upcoming dates in our area, and/or add yourself to our waitlist to be notified of new dates. We usually roll out dates for Fall and Winter. We do not train during the summer months.
